From modesty to meaning. From shame to self-acceptance. From one shore to another.

We are Megan and William — not our legal names, but the names we are known by in the naturist community, both in Australia and online.

We are an Indian-origin couple in our 40s, living in Australia and raising a young family.

We write anonymously because privacy matters to us. But the stories we share here are honest.

Second Shore Naturists is our space for reflecting on naturism as a respectful, non-sexual, body-positive way of life — especially through the lens of culture, migration, modesty, marriage, ageing, privacy, and self-acceptance.

It is also a space for others who may come from conservative backgrounds like ours, and who have quietly wondered whether there might be another way to understand the human body.

From modesty to meaning. From one shore to another.

Why we write

We did not grow up imagining nudism would ever become part of our lives.

Coming from a conservative Indian background, nudity was often surrounded by silence, shame, fear, and misunderstanding.

For many of us, the body is something to cover, control, judge, compare, or hide. Nudity is often treated as automatically sexual, inappropriate, or dangerous.

We once carried many of those assumptions too.

Then, after moving to Australia, curiosity led us to explore social nudism.

What we found surprised us.

We found calm.
We found body acceptance.
We found friendship.
We found ordinary people with ordinary bodies.
We found a quiet freedom in being clothes-free without performance, comparison, or shame.

This publication is about that journey — and about gently questioning the ideas we inherited.

What we write about

Here, we write about non-sexual social nudism, body positivity after 40, cultural modesty, migration, marriage, privacy, and unlearning shame.

For us, naturism is not about shock, performance, or sexuality.

It is about becoming less afraid of the human body.

It is about seeing nudity in a calmer, kinder, more ordinary way.

And it is about making space for curious adults — especially those from conservative cultures or families — to explore the idea of naturism with an open mind, without pressure or judgement.

Why we stay anonymous

We stay anonymous because we are also parents, relatives, professionals, and members of communities where naturism is not always understood.

For us, anonymity is not shame.

It is care.
It is context.
It is healthy boundaries.

We are not hiding because naturism is wrong. We are choosing discretion because privacy matters.

Who this is for

This space is for curious adults, fellow naturists, body-positive readers, and anyone from a conservative background who has quietly wondered whether there might be another way to understand nudity, modesty, and the body.

You do not have to be a nudist to read here.

You do not have to agree with everything we write.

You do not have to be ready to try anything yourself.

You only need an open mind.

This is not a sexual publication, a couples’ lifestyle blog, or a place for explicit content. We write about naturism as a respectful, non-sexual, body-positive way of life.

Our hope is that these reflections may help others feel less alone, less ashamed of their bodies, and perhaps a little more curious about what non-sexual naturism can offer.

Welcome to Second Shore Naturists.
